Sport category: Hockey PLAYOFF BUZZ TRIPLE OT TAKES TOLL
Date: 11-05-2006 20:12
Without question, the team that worked the hardest and played the best wound up with the win thanks to Shawn Horcoff’s triple OT winner that gave Edmonton a 3-2 win over San Jose. The big question now is, what kind of a toll did it take on the Oilers. They lost Georges Laraque with a game misconduct in the second period and didn’t give much ice time to the other fourth-liners the rest of the way. That means their star players logged a lot of playing time and will have to recover for Game 4 Friday.
In Game 1 of the San Jose-Edmonton series, the Sharks’ Jonathan Cheechoo hammered Oilers defenseman Chris Pronger 20 seconds into the game. Pronger returned the favor about 20 seconds into Game 3.
